This made for cable remake of the cult loser the Wasp Woman is about middle aged millionaire Janius Starlin. President of
Starlin beauty care products. But since she is getting older the board of directors are talking about replacing her as the
spokesperson for the company which ticks her off to no end. To keep this from happening, Janius goes to a reseach scientist
dabbling in Wasp extract to recapture youth, Dr. Zinthorp. He wants her to fund his research, he demonstrates the pure solution
on his elderly cat Samson.
But when Dr. Zinthorp is killed by Samson in a dark alley away from the lab, Janius, tired of waiting for results injects
herself with the pure extract. I can only imagine the commerical for this product. "Side effects are mild and my include:
Paranoa, Halussensations and transforming into a giant bug."
Janius subconcously goes after the men in her life she thinks wronged her. The college kid who said a cruel thing when
he thought he couldn't hear her. The traitor helping the compitition with a buy out and the comitition for her boyfriend's
Compared to the first movie, this is bloody genius. The effects were outstanding. The monster desings were cool beyoung
words and the plot allthough done before in such films as "EVIL SPAWN". It still a workable plot. The only thing
was disappointed with is the fact we never saw her fly, she could fly, we heard her fly. With all the CGI in the film why
not a flying effect?
I GIVE IT (8 STARS)
I agree with everything Zedd said, except my issue isn't with flying. Near the end of the film Janius transforms into the
Wasp Woman fully dressed yet, since there was such a dramatic difference in size between Janius in human form and wasp form.
Then all her clothes should have been torn off. When she confronted Alec in the cave in human form, she should have been
completed naked or at least wearing a new set of clothes. That is the only problem with the film and even with that I liked
it allot. I thought it was allot of fun.
I GIVE IT (9 STARS)
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+HITS)
+EFFECTS (incredible effects that the orignal never had)
+MONSTERS (The creatures were really, really cool)
+STORY (The story allthough not original really works and the whole "LOVE WHO YOU ARE" moral is a classic)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (-MISSES)
-NO FLYING (I was kind of hoping to see her fly)
-NO TORN CLOTHES (She should have ripped clear out of that suilt)
